Your options for lighter & healthier living
If dietary changes and exercise do not lead to success, various gastric procedures can help to reduce your weight permanently. Each procedure has its own unique features. We will be happy to discuss the most suitable option for you.
Stomach Reduction (Sleeve Gastrectomy)
In a sleeve gastrectomy, a sizable part of the stomach is removed, leaving a tube-shaped residual stomach. This significantly reduces the amount of food that can be ingested, and the feeling of fullness occurs earlier. Another advantage is the reduction in the hunger hormone ghrelin, which also decreases appetite. In contrast to a gastric bypass, the natural digestive function is retained.

Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB)
The Mini Gastric Bypass combines a stomach reduction with a bypass of the small intestine. Food and calorie intake are restricted. The procedure is less complex than the classic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and still offers effective weight reduction. By bypassing part of the small intestine, metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes are better controlled.
Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNYGB)
Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass is one of the most reliable and effective methods of bariatric surgery. The stomach is converted into a small foregut (pouch) and the small intestine is diverted in such a way that food intake and digestion are restricted. This method leads to a significant reduction in weight and can reduce concomitant diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

Conversion of Sleeve to Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB)
If the desired weight is not achieved after a Sleeve Gastrectomy or symptoms such as reflux occur, conversion to a Mini Gastric Bypass may be appropriate. This involves connecting the remaining stomach to the small intestine, which further limits food intake and has a greater effect on the metabolism. This leads to improved weight loss and can have a positive effect on accompanying illnesses.
Conversion of Sleeve to Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNYGB)
When a Sleeve stomach is converted to a Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, the digestive tract is adjusted so that part of the small intestine is bypassed. This not only decreases calorie intake but can also ease symptoms such as reflux or inadequate weight loss after sleeve surgery.

Conversion of Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB) to Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNYGB)
If symptoms such as bile acid reflux or insufficient weight loss occur after a Mini Gastric Bypass, conversion to the Roux-en-Y Bypass is possible. The existing connection to the small intestine is surgically adapted so that the digestive tract has a more stable bypass.
